Galvestonians are gearing up for another thunderous weekend of music and motorcycles as the annual Lone Star Rally draws closer. Slated for the weekend of Oct 31 st  - Nov 3rd and attracting as many as 500,000 people to Galveston Island for the country’s largest 4-day motorcycle event, Lone Star Rally increases in size every year.

Music and motorcycles have gone hand in hand since Steppenwolf belted out “Get your motor runnin’” in their 1968 hit, Born To Be Wild, and this year’s Lone Star Rally has a stellar lineup of headliners including classic rock legend Lou Gramm of Foreigner performing with Asia featuring John Payne on Friday, Nov 1 st  at 9pm, Oklahoma rockers Hinder on Thursday, Oct 31 st  at 7:30 pm, country legend Eddie Montgomery performing as Montgomery Gentry on Saturday, Nov 2 nd  at 9pm, and the famed Charlie Daniels Band on Sunday, Nov 3rd at 2:30 pm.

With music concerts all day long beginning at 2pm on two stages, (the Budweiser Main Stage at 23rd  and The Strand and the Progressive Beach Central Stage at 2102 Seawall), Lone Star Rally 2019 will include over 30 performances by 15 bands.

Local Galveston/Houston favorites, southern rockers, the Zach Tate Band, heard on KPFT 90.1 FM and KACC 89.7 FM throughout the Houston/Galveston region, will be performing three shows on the Budweiser Main Stage: Thursday, Oct 31 st  at 4pm, Friday, Nov 1 st  at 2pm and Saturday, Nov 2 nd  at 2pm along with an evening show at local live music hub, Sharky’s Tavern on Saturday, Nov. 2nd at 9pm.

Zach Tate brings his unique blend of southern rock, blues and country to the Lone Star Rally for the 5th  straight year with songs ranging in style from the motorcycle rock ballad “Outlaw” (video on YouTube) about the Twin Peaks Waco shootout of 2015 to the upbeat, crowd-favorite Jimmy Buffett-esque “Galveston”.

Also scheduled to perform at Lone Star Rally are a mix of high energy pop, tribute, country, rock and classic rock artists including the AC/DC tribute Highway To Hell, ZZ Top tribute ZZ3, the fiery multi-band 80’s tribute Hairball, as well as Bobby Friss, Miss Intent, Creed Fisher, Gethen Jenkins, Stone Senate, The Merle Travis Band, and Piedmont Boys.

Custom bike building, car shows, the Miss Lone Star Rally contest, and hundreds of vendors selling everything from hand crafted biker inspired jewelry to motorcycle accessories and festival foods means there is something for everyone.
