Jul 01, 2019 02:23PM
The 1920s come to life at Prohibition Red’s, which is celebrating its one-year anniversary this month. The official celebration will be held on Saturday, July 27 with a period costume party entitled “A New Year’s Eve Party at a Speakeasy” with entertainment by the Dirty Bay Jazz Players accompanied by Sophie. Ladies are encouraged to dress in their best flapper attire and men in 1920s and 1930s inspired clothing. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed lady, man and couple.
Red’s also welcomes their new Chef Hector, known for his delicious creations at Mosquito Café. “He has been an incredible addition,” says manager David Robertson, “bringing some great new menu items and introducing the best breakfast on the Island.” Their newly added breakfast menu includes the “long-lost” avocado pancakes courtesy of Chef Jim.
For lunch and dinner, the summer menu has several new additions like Prime Rib Eye steak, Chicken Fried Rib Eye, grilled double pork chop, Snapper dishes and the original Mama Red’s Nachos in addition to their delectable burgers and sandwiches.
Inside, Red’s has begun hosting artists during the Galveston ArtWalk held every six weeks, and outside, the patio has turned into the perfect date night spot. Red’s is also open late for dinner, served until 11pm on weeknights and midnight on Friday and Saturday. Stay tuned for new drink specials coming in August.
